Coming from Greensboro Interstate 40 East/ 85 North bound:
- Take exit 161 toward US-70 East
- Go half a mile and turn left onto US-70 Connector North/ I -85 Connector North
- Go .8 miles and take the ramp onto US-70 East
- Go 4.2 miles and turn left onto State Road 1002/ St. Marys Road
- Go 10.9 miles and turn left onto US-501 North/North Roxboro Road
- Go approximately 11.2 miles and turn right onto State Road 1601/ Moores Mill Road
- Go approximately .2 miles and take the first right onto State Forest Road
Coming from Raleigh Interstate 40 West bound:
- Take exit 279 B for North Carolina 147 North
- Go approximately 7.3 miles and take exit onto South Duke Street
- Go approximately 1.9 miles then keep left to continue on North Duke Street
- Go approximately 2.6 miles and take a slight left onto US-501 North/ North Roxboro Street
- Go approximately 11.2 miles and turn right onto State Road 1601/ Moores Mill Road
- Go approximately .2 miles and take the first right onto State Forest Road
Coming from Oxford Interstate 85 South bound:
- Take exit 191 for North Carolina 56 West
- Go approximately 2.1 miles then turn right onto State Road 1112/ South 33rd Street
- Take the second right to continue State Road 1112/33rd Street
- Go approximately 11.9 miles and then turn left onto State Road 1104/Butner Road/Old Route 75
- Turn right onto State Road 1615/Stagville Road
- In approximately 1.1 miles take the first right onto State Road 1601/Moores Mill Road
- Go approximately .2 miles and take the first right onto State Forest Road

About G.W. Hill Forest & Camp Slocum
First used in 1936, Camp Slocum is used yearly as an outdoor classroom for educating new generations of forestry, wildlife, fisheries and conservation bioligy students – and, currently, new generations of primitive skills students.
GW Hill Forest is a 2,690 acre teaching and demonstration forest operated by North Carolina State University and has been in service as such since 1929.
